I could not find the activation.dat file, as the furthest I got was "Computer/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe". Getting an error message "Unable to erase authorization. I looked here: I'm unable to deauthorize my computer. I tried this multiple times but always received the same error message. I followed the instructions to erase authorization, but received the following message: "Unable to Erase Authorization. #ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS UNABLE TO ERASE AUTHORIZATION LICENSE#
I went to the help page here: License server communication error: E_ACT_NOT_READY.License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY I received the following message: "Unable to Download Error getting License.
I then tried to add the *.acsm file by both File>Add to Library and by double-clicking on the file in Finder.I downloaded a few borrowed Epub books from my local library so I could test an already-working file and be sure the program works sufficiently before trying the file I created.

I need to test out Epub files I create before sending them to market, so I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions for Mac from here: Download | Adobe Digital Editions. Chat assistant said I had to post my issue on here to get help. So I have now de-authorised my adobe account on the computer with the ebooks on. I did so and then tried to re-download my ebooks. So I went on chat help again they advised that I de-authorise my account on my computer and re-authorise with my adobe account details. I then tried to authorise my computer with the ebooks on, did so but it wouldn't let me open my ebooks as the following message appeared (I have blanked out my details): So I asked for support on chat and de-authorised my adobe account on the laptop. Result: I still couldn't access my books. So I did that - but on the laptop that I hadn't downloaded the ebooks onto. I looked at 'help' and it said about setting up an adobe account and authorising the computer. When they were downloaded I did not have an Adobe account and didn't realise I needed one until I tried to open them on another laptop and couldn't. I downloaded them onto my computer & it prompted me that I would have to view them in Adobe digital editions, which I accepted. Ok so I purchased 2 x ebooks about 4 days ago. As an FYI, I'm working on a MBP, OS X 10.11.5. I tried going through customer service chat, but was informed that the only way to get help was asking on Forums. I can only hit OK, there are no other buttons. If I try to redownload the book from OverDrive, I get the following error:Įrror getting License. Try Again will give me the same error message. 
My only options are to hit Cancel or Try Again.

I was just going to give up and read it on the computer, but now I'm getting the following error when I try to open the book:īody of Window: An Error Has Been DetectedĪctivation Server error - code E_ADEPT_INTERNALĭigital Editions encounter an error on the activation server.
I then got an error message that the book could not be transferred to my Nook and I followed instructions on OverDrive that said to deauthorize the Nook and authorize it again. After looking at other forum posts, I did downgrade by uninstalling ADE 4.5 and installing ADE 3.0. The problem started with not being able to open an eBook that was transferred to my Nook.
